Husqvarna DXR´s can be combined with a variety of tools like hammers, crushers, grapplers and steel shearer depending on what application you are working on. In this video we show the different tools and give some advice on when the different tools can be used.

Bucket

The bucket is designed to move material. It is not designed for use as a lifting implement.

Hydraulic hammer

The hydraulic hammer (also called breaker) is designed for demolition by means of hewing. It is not designed for use as a crowbar. Continuous hewing with the hydraulic hammer can result in high temperatures in the hydraulic system. Typical applications are road construction, smaller trenching and demolition jobs, building renovation, landscaping and boulder size reduction in quarries.

Concrete crusher

The concrete crushers are designed to crush and cut material in their jaws. They are ideal for a variety of applications such as demolition of concrete and brick constructions, staircases, roofs as well as sensitive locations inside buildings where noise or vibrations can be an issue.

Steel shear

The steel shears are intended to cut metallic materials with their jaws. They are not intended to pull and bend materials with the help of the machine. Very useful in sensitive areas such as process industries, as well as demolition of structures, piping and process vessels.

Drum cutter

DC 200 is a rotary drum cutter which fits all our demolition robots. It’s a highly productive tool for trenching, surface removal and profiling in rock, concrete and hard soil.

Grapplers

The grapplers are intended for demolishing wooden structures and brick walls, sorting and loading work. It is not intended to pull/demolish beams, stays and walls. Neither is it intended to hammer/hack or transport loads.

External tools

External hydraulic tools can be connected to all DXR robots. External tool is activated from the service menu. Find out more about how to do this in the “External tool” section of the feature & benefits chapter

All Husqvarna DXR´s are controlled by a ergonomic remote control that has 2-way communication with the machine. You can connect the remote either via a cable or wireless using bluetooth.

The unique remote with color display and 2-way communication means you can easily read and control all parameters of the machine.

Identity code

Each machine has its own unique ID code. Upon delivery the remote control is pre-programmed with the machine’s unique ID code. The remote control can be reprogrammed, remated, so that it can be used together with another machine.

Automatic frequency hopping

In the event of interference in the communication, the frequency changes automatically to guarantee interference-free transmission.

Correct positioning of the machine while working is important and will ensure not only maximum efficiency and less wear on the machine, but also a safe workplace.

Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.

Stability

• Use the individual outriggers to get the machine in the proper horizontal level.
• The machine is most stable when working directly forwards or backwards.
• When the machine’s upper part rotates to the side, the outriggers should be down and the arm system manoeuvred so that it is as close to the ground as possible.
• Do not operate the arm with the machine’s outriggers/dozer blade raised.
• Outriggers/dozer blades give stability and reduce the risk of the machine overturning.

Arm system

• Do not work with the machine’s cylinders in the inner or outer end positions to avoid overloading. Leave a few centimetres to the maximum position. The hydraulic oil then has a greater capacity to alleviate impacts and vibrations.

Positioning

• For better results, position the machine as close to the working object as possible.
• Do not secure the machine to fixed objects, e.g. walls, to increase the force on the working object. Both the machine and the tool can be subject to overloading.

Always try to keep couplings as clean as possible to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system by wiping dirt off the couplings before assembling or dismantling and place dust guards on the machine’s hydraulic couplings when no tool is mounted.

Connecting the tool

Ensure that the tool is turned the right way round. Viewed from behind, the pressure connection of the tool should be connected on the left side (B port) and the return hose on the right side (A port).

The hydraulic hoses are equipped with quick couplings with decompression. This facilitates fitting the hoses even though pressure is trapped.

Operating the machine

Husqvarna DXR´s are probably the most intuitive demolition robots on the markets. With the intuitive programmable remote control you can get the responsiveness and speed etc that suits you and your application.
One-hand transportation let´s you move cables while driving the machine forward. Individually controlled outriggers get´s the machine stable on most surfaces and two-way communication between the machine and the remote will alert you if there is something wrong, directly in the display.

The machine can be operated in three different modes: transport mode, set-up mode and work mode. In the video above basic operations in work mode are shown.

• Work mode – In this mode you can operate everything except the caterpillar tracks and outriggers.
• Set-up mode – In this mode you can operate the caterpillar tracks and outriggers.
• Transport mode – In this mode you can operate the caterpillar tracks, outriggers, tower and certain arm functions.
