Husqvarna Dual Drive Technology™ a flatter floor finished faster

Husqvarna Dual Drive Technology™ is a patented design in which the two separate motors for the planetary head and grinding discs are operated independently of each other. This unique feature allows for an almost unlimited combination of settings and excellent control of the process.

Dual Drive Technology™ allows the planetary head and grinding discs to be set in both counter direction and in the same direction rotation. Same direction rotation enables a more efficient process with extremely high production rates and a flatter finish. The infographics below explain the simple physics behind the Dual Drive effect:

Counter rotation

When the machine is moved forward, the “middle zone” is ground more thoroughly than the “outer zones”. The end result is a deeper cut through the “middle zone” and a shallower cut in the “outer zones”. This is a direct result of where the diamonds have spent the most time.

Same direction rotation

When the machine is moved forward, the “middle zone” is still ground more thoroughly than the “outer zones”, but the difference is less than with counter direction. This produces more even results.

Higher production rate

Dual Drive Technology™ enables the operator to optimise the grinding process to the floor conditions and if suitable use a more aggressive grinding mode to increase the production rate.

Husqvarna PG 820 RC and PG 680 RC are the world’s first remote-controlled, self-propelled concrete floor grinders with Dual Drive Technology™. While your machine is working its way forward, you can apply HIPERFLOOR® chemicals, prepare the next set of tools, adjust hoses etc., which means more productive use of your working time.
Compared to the already efficient standard versions of PG 820 and PG 680, the RC versions enable up to 30% higher productivity. They also allow for more ergonomic operation and effortless transportation to and from the work site. The unique oscillation function is an innovative new feature that delivers astonishing results by producing an even flatter floor.

The PG 820, with its 820 mm grinding width, is very suitable for industrial applications, while the 680 mm grinding width on the PG 680 RC enables it to pass through normal door openings in offices, hotels and domestic areas. These machines are excellent choices for concrete floor preparation and repair as well as all polishing and grinding applications – both wet and dry.

Software-controlled oscillation for even flatter floors

The software that controls the forward motion on our remote-controlled grinders can be set to make the machine mimic the rocking side-to-side movements which normally are made manually by the operator when using a traditional grinding machine. This unique feature provides three main benefits: 

  • It delivers a flatter floor, by eliminating the ridges otherwise created between passes.
  • It saves time, as the desired result is achieved instantly without using the cross hatching technique. 
  • By using the same settings, identical surface results can be achieved with multiple operators.

Husqvarna DC 6000 features a unique 3-stage filtering process: A patented double-cylinder cyclone filter separates the heavier fraction of particles, before a HEPA 13-rated filter catches the remaining airborne dust. The self-cleaning feature enables you to work without any loss of suction force or air flow.
All particles are bagged in an easily emptied Longopac system. The high capacity makes Husqvarna DC 6000 suitable for use with high-performance concrete grinders like Husqvarna PG 820, PG 820 RC, PG 680 and PG 680 RC.
